Sarà aperta al pubblico da domenica 7 giugno a domenica 22 novembre 2009, ai Giardini, all’Arsenale, e in vari luoghi di Venezia, la 53. Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte dal titolo Fare Mondi // Making Worlds // Bantin Duniyan// Weltenmachen // Construire des Mondes // Fazer Mundos, diretta da Daniel Birnbaum. La vernice avrà luogo nei giorni 4, 5 e 6 giugno 2009. Due Leoni d’oro alla carriera verranno assegnati agli artisti Yoko Ono e John Baldessari – fra le più importanti personalità nell’arte del nostro tempo.
Il padiglione georgiano espone l'installazione audiovisiva “Change in Drawing Orchestra”, dell'artista Koka Ramishvili, installazione costituita da due opere indipendenti dislocate in due sale, (Audio – Koka Ramishvili&Nika Machaidze) 2009.
Sono ben 77 quest'anno le partecipazioni nazionali alla Biennale: si sono aggiunti Montenegro, Principato di Monaco, Gabon, Unione delle Comore, Emirati Arabi Uniti.
