Blacksburg Fourth of July Celebrations
The Town of Blacksburg's Fourth of July Celebration will kick off at 2pm with a Parade up Main Street sponsored by the Mount Tabor Ruritan Club- see that link for the parade route and schedule, or contact Gavin Fulkner at 540-449-6178 to register as a parade participant. Blacksburg Parks and Recreation has more special events planned for the Celebration at Municipal Park (between Patrick Henry and Turner streets, behind the Blacksburg Community Center), finishing up with a fireworks display at 9:30pm.
14th Annual Friendly Garden Tour
The Friends of the Library and the New River Valley Master Gardeners Association will present the 14th Annual Friendly Garden Tour on Saturday, July 11 from 10am to 6pm. Visit 7 gardens in the Blacksburg area-- see the Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library page or visit one of their branches for tickets and more information.

Psychologists in Virginia Tech's College of Science are seeking participants for a newly developed free Internet program that helps people make permanent lifestyle changes to improve their health. "Guide-to-Health" provides the skills, support and information people need to increase physical activity, eat more nutritiously, and prevent weight gain.
